WELCOME TO OUR IFR SECTION

"Live as if you were to die tomorrow. Learn as if you were to live for ever" - Mahatma Gandhi

An Instrument Rating empowers you to fly an aircraft safely from one point to another purely with reference to your flight instruments. Unlike in the past, newer aircraft are equipped with Electronic Flight Instrumentation (EFIS) systems such as GARMIN 1000 that provide you with accurate information to enhance your situational awareness in extremely poor visibility conditions.

Much knowledge can be gained when the video tutorials are watched in conjunction with reading the books such as Instrument Procedures Handbook and the Instrument Flying Handbook.

Upon passing all the theoretical knowledge exams, flight training comprises of Instrument flying procedures such as SID (Standard Instrument Departure), Holding, interception and tracking of VOR radials, interception and tracking of DME arc, STAR (Standard Terminal Arrival Route), ILS/VOR/GPS approaches and missed approaches, to mention the important few.

Instrument Procedures Handbook

This handbook supersedes FAA-H-8261-16A, Instrument Procedures Handbook, dated 2015. It is designed as a technical reference for all pilots who operate under instrument flight rules (IFR) in the National Airspace System (NAS). It expands and updates information contained in the FAA-H-8083-15B, ....

Jeppesen Enroute Charts

Jeppesen Enroute Charts are compiled and constructed using the best available aeronautical and topographical reference charts. Most Jeppesen Enroute Charts use the Lambert Conformal Conic projection. The design is intended primarily for airway instrument navigation to be referenced to cockpit instruments....

“Learning to fly an airplane taught me a way of thinking, an approach to problem-solving that was applicable and effective. Pilots are very methodical and meticulous, and artists tend not to be.”
